Dana Holding Corporation (DAN) recently showcased the Spicer TE30 powershift transmission at the Bauma 2013 exhibition. The transmission will be marketed in the first quarter of 2014 and deployed in the reach stackers and heavy-duty forklift trucks with optimized drivetrain system. Addition of this transmission will enhance fuel efficiency and lower ownership cost of the vehicles.

The Spicer TE30 transmission is equipped with different engineering refinements, which will enhance the efficiency of the vehicle. The refinement includes decreased spinning speeds of internal components, which will reduce the oil loss, optimized clutch sizes with intelligent lubrication management, torque converter with a lock-up clutch, which will eliminate converter losses in high-power conditions and reduced gear ratio steps that supports shifting in direct-drive mode.

Consumers prefer efficient and reliable material-handling machines. The Spicer TE30 transmission with a range of powershift technologies is expected to deliver better productivity and greater return. The transmission with five forward and three reverse speeds will also satisfy the rising demand for heavy-duty material-handling equipment.

The Spicer TE30 transmission can be used in engines ranging from 225 to 300 kW. In addition, the Spicer TE30 with the same installation envelope as the Spicer TE27 and Spicer TE32 transmissions can be well fitted in the same vehicle designs.
