EDP-Energias de Portugal SA said Thursday that it had signed a power-purchase agreement with Mexico's Ammper Energia S.A.P.I. de C.V, which will enable the Portuguese electric utility company to sell power through its subsidiary EDP Renovaveis SA.

Under the agreement, EDP Renovaveis will sell energy produced at its Los Cuervos solar project in Mexico, which is set to begin operations at the start of 2021, to Ammper Energia.

The Portuguese company said the contract is set in U.S. dollars and is for a minimum of 15 years.

EDP-Energias de Portugal owns 82.6% of EDP Renovaveis.
