Iberdrola SA said Wednesday that earnings and revenue rose in
the first half of 2022, and backed its profit guidance for the full
year.
The Spanish utility said net profit came in at 2.08 billion
euros ($2.11 billion) in the period, up from EUR1.53 billion a year
earlier.
In Spain, profit fell by 26%, hit by high energy prices that
haven't been passed on to customers with fixed rate contracts.
Strong growth was instead registered in the U.S., Brazil and the
U.K., the company said.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization
increased to EUR6.44 billion from EUR5.44 billion in the prior
year, showing positive trends across regions except for Spain.
Revenue in the first half rose to EUR24.43 billion from EUR18.75
billion, Iberdrola said.
The company confirmed that it expects net profit of between EUR4
billion and EUR4.2 billion for the full year.
