RIO DE JANEIRO--Flat-steel inventories in Brazil fell 1.1% in July from the previous month to 963,600 metric tons, Sindisider, the country's steel distributors' association, said in a statement.

The inventory levels were equivalent to 2.8 months' flat-steel consumption, similar to the level recorded in June, the association said.

Sales of flat-steel products by distributors in the Brazilian market fell 1.9% from the previous month to 342,100 tons, Sindisider said. Imports of steel products into Brazil fell 16.2% from the previous month to 139,800 tons, the association said.
