Gilat Satcom Ltd. (the "Company") hereby announces that Mr. Roy Hess was
appointed today as a director in the Company and as the Company's CEO, with the
appointment taking effect on July 1, 2007. Mr. Hess' employment term will be
subject to shareholder approval at the forthcoming Shareholders meeting and the
Company will issue notice of its annual general shareholders meeting by the end
of this month. . Mr. Hess will replace Mr. Amos Lasker who has decided to
concentrate on his other business interests and who has, therefore, resigned
from the his position as the Company's CEO and from the Company's board of
directors.

Mr. Hess, aged 45, is joining the Company following 18 years of experience in
the telecom and software industries.

During the last four years Mr. Hess acted as the Corporate Vice President of
Business Development and Marketing of C. Mer Industries (Mer Group) and as
President of Mer Inc. The Mer group (TASE: CMER) is a vertically-integrated
provider of turnkey solutions for the Telecommunications, Security, Defense and
other industries. In his position Mr. Hess was responsible for leading changes
in the marketing and business development strategies of Mer, including its
expanded presence in more territories, creating global cooperation with
international companies and others. Mr. Hess was also responsible for sales of
turnkey projects to cellular operators and telcos in Africa and Latin America.
Prior to this, Mr. Hess acted as Vice President of Product Marketing in Kamoon
Inc., Mr. Hess holds B.Sc. in Physics and Computer Science from Ben Gurion
University in Beer-Sheva Israel and M.B.A. from Tel Aviv University.
