                                 BOARD CHANGE
                                       
John David Sports Plc announces that Peter Cowgill, the Finance Director, is
resigning from the Board with effect from 30 July 1999.

John Wardle, Chairman, commented:

"Peter joined the company from his accountancy practice shortly before
flotation and has instituted strong financial control and reporting procedures
during a period of rapid growth.  Peter will complete the 1999 Report and
Accounts.  The results to be announced in June will confirm the good trading
progress of the company.  Peter has then indicated that he wishes to consider
new challenges and opportunities which have arisen.  He will be involved in
the appointment of his successor.  He has also kindly agreed to provide his
advice and experience to the company after 30 July as necessary.

I would like to thank Peter for his significant contribution to John David
Sports Plc, both as advisor and finance director.  An announcement of his
successor will be made in due course."
