Kerry announces the publication of a circular to its shareholders in
connection with the proposed acquisition of Golden Vale plc ("Golden Vale").


The Circular, copies of which are being posted to Shareholders today, convenes
an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company for 3.00 p.m. on 21 August,
2001 at which the resolution approving completion of the acquisition will be
considered and voted on.
