With the approval of the new module, the entire Raytheon SureView(TM) product is now Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 level 1 compliant. Such compliance is required by the U.S. federal government to ensure that information systems using cryptography are secure. The Cryptographic Module Validation Program, operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, provides module and algorithm testing for FIPS 140-2.
