MONTREAL, June 6, 2024 /CNW/ - VIA HFR, a federal Crown corporation created in November 2022, cordially invites the public and media to its inaugural Annual Public Meeting (APM), to be webcasted on July 10^th, 2024.

Since its inception, VIA HFR has rapidly advanced its mission to connect Canadians and foster a sustainable future by developing Canada's rapid train corridor linking Toronto to Quebec City with a fast, frequent, and reliable transportation solution.

The Chair of the Board of Directors of VIA HFR, Robert Prichard, the Vice-Chair of the Board, Marie-José Nadeau, and the President and Chief Executive Officer, Martin Imbleau, will co-chair the 2024 APM. This event will offer an opportunity for attendees to gain insights into the Corporation's mandate, its main accomplishments during its first fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2024, and its vision for the remainder of 2024.

The public and media will have the opportunity to engage directly with VIA HFR by either submitting their questions and inquiries to corporatesecretariat-secretariatcorporatif@hfr-tgf.ca by July 2^nd, 11:59 p.m. or by logging on to the webcast on July 10^th and submitting questions through the chat function.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions will be addressed during the event on July 10^th, as time permits, and in the FAQ section of the VIA HFR website.

VIA HFR's first annual report will be available under of the "Transparency and Trust" section of VIA HFR's website after it is tabled before both Houses of Parliament in the fall of 2024.
