WWE and Susan G. Komen Team Up Once Again to
Raise Funds for Breast Health and Research in Washington,
D.C.
Susan G. Komen today announced WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan will
serve as the official Grand Marshal for the 2015 Susan G. Komen
Washington, D.C. Race for the Cure®, taking place on Saturday, May
9, in Washington, D.C. on the National Mall.
In addition to serving as Grand Marshal, Hogan and WWE Diva
Layla® have created “Team WWE” at the D.C. Race. Fans can join the
team by registering for the Race at komendcrace.info-komen.org and
search “Team WWE” under the “Join a Team” page or by clicking the
link here.
Komen President and CEO Judy Salerno, M.D., M.S., praised Hogan
for supporting the mission to raise awareness about the breast
cancer problem in Washington, D.C., a city that has the highest
incidence and mortality rate from breast cancer in the country.
“We are so excited to have Hulk Hogan join us at the Race and
form a team to bring much needed attention to the breast cancer
crisis we are facing in the National Capital Region,” said Dr.
Salerno. “We are sure Hulk Hogan will inspire the legions of
‘Hulkamaniacs’ to be fearless in the fight against breast
cancer.”
“It is an honor to join survivors, volunteers and participants
and serve as Grand Marshal for Susan G. Komen’s D.C. Race for the
Cure,” said Hulk Hogan. “I am proud to represent WWE as we continue
to use our global platforms to raise awareness for the fight
against breast cancer.”
Hogan’s participation at the Race continues a history of success
between Komen and WWE in raising awareness for the fight against
breast cancer. In October 2014, the two organizations partnered
once again for a special Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign
titled “Courage Conquer Cure.” WWE Superstars and Divas wore
co-branded Susan G. Komen and WWE pink ring gear, which fans and
supporters were able to purchase, and WWE platforms also “went
pink” for the campaign.
The partnership launched in 2012 with the successful “Rise Above
Cancer” campaign and to date has raised more than $1.5 million for
breast cancer research, education and screening. You can learn more
about this partnership by visiting www.komen.org/wwe.
Since the Race’s inception in 1990, funds raised have provided
more than $35 million for more than 300 community grants to local
programs in the National Capital Region, aimed at low-income,
minority and uninsured women in areas where breast cancer rates are
the highest. Currently, Komen has 19 active grants for community
education and treatment centers helping to provide breast health
services, treatment assistance and patient support services in the
National Capital Region – which includes northern Virginia, the
District and Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in Maryland.
In addition to community grants, Komen has invested more than $30
million in more than 120 grants to breast cancer researchers at
local institutions, such as Georgetown University, The Institute of
Medicine and Howard University.
There are multiple ways to participate in and fundraise for the
D.C. Race, including the 5K or one-mile walk/run. Children ages
five to 12 can register for Kids for the Cure®, a special
kid-friendly race. To learn more, visit

safe harbor provisions of the Securities Litigation Reform Act of
1995, which are subject to various risks and uncertainties. These
risks and uncertainties include, without limitation, risks relating
to: WWE Network; major distribution agreements; our need to
continue to develop creative and entertaining programs and events;
a decline in the popularity of our brand of sports entertainment;
the continued importance of key performers and the services of
Vincent K. McMahon; possible adverse changes in the regulatory
atmosphere and related private sector initiatives; the highly
competitive, rapidly changing and increasingly fragmented nature of
the markets in which we operate and greater financial resources or
marketplace presence of many of our competitors; uncertainties
associated with international markets; our difficulty or inability
to promote and conduct our live events and/or other businesses if
we do not comply with applicable regulations; our dependence on our
intellectual property rights, our need to protect those rights, and
the risks of our infringement of others’ intellectual property
rights; the complexity of our rights agreements across distribution
mechanisms and geographical areas; potential substantial liability
in the event of accidents or injuries occurring during our
physically demanding events including, without limitation, claims
relating to CTE; large public events as well as travel to and from
such events; our feature film business; our expansion into new or
complementary businesses and/or strategic investments; our computer
systems and online operations; a possible decline in general
economic conditions and disruption in financial markets; our
accounts receivable; our revolving credit facility; litigation; our
potential failure to meet market expectations for our financial
performance, which could adversely affect our stock; Vincent K.
McMahon exercising control over our affairs, and his interests may
conflict with the holders of our Class A common stock; a
substantial number of shares which are eligible for sale by the
McMahons and the sale, or the perception of possible sales, of
those shares could lower our stock price; and the relatively small
public “float” of our Class A common stock. In addition, our
dividend is dependent on a number of factors, including, among
other things, our liquidity and cash flow, strategic plan
(including alternative uses of capital), our financial results and
condition, contractual and legal restrictions on the payment of
dividends (including under our revolving credit facility), general
economic and competitive conditions and such other factors as our
Board of Directors may consider relevant. Forward-looking
