WASHINGTON (AFP)--President Barack Obama will discuss General Motors' (GM) expected bankruptcy filing, in remarks planned for 11:55 a.m. (1555 GMT) Monday, the White House announced.

In a statement Sunday, the White House said that Obama would deliver remarks on the roiling U.S. auto industry after meeting Monday with his senior advisors.

Obama's comments are to come shortly after the auto giant officially files bankruptcy paperwork, which U.S. media reported will likely happen at around 8:00 am (1200 GMT) Monday.

Obama was, later Monday, to meet with his National Economic Council staff, the White House statement said.
