The more favorable environment is enabling US businesses to take a practical, compliance-first approach when exploring asset tokenization, using stablecoins for payments, or engaging in regulated DeFi experiments. US President Donald Trump created a cryptocurrency working group to propose new regulations of the asset class and explore the possibility of a national crypto stockpile, effectively overhauling US policy on digital assets. He also ordered the protection of banking services for crypto companies in light of claims that regulators had mandated lenders cut these companies off from services. He banned the creation of central bank digital currencies, which would have competed with cryptocurrencies.

The first panel discussion at DeFi World 2025 will have a broad focus on DeFi community growth, followed by a talk on modular and layer-2 blockchain solutions and on the ways in which AI is shaping DeFi.
