Air Liquide SA reported a rise in first-quarter revenue on Thursday as its gas and services division posted growth in all regions.

The French industrial-gases company said first-quarter revenue grew 4.2% to 7.17 billion euros ($7.92 billion), compared with EUR6.89 billion a year prior.

On a comparable basis, quarterly revenue grew 6.2%, Air Liquide said.

The result compares to expectations of EUR7.08 billion in quarterly revenue, according to a consensus of analysts polled by FactSet.

Revenue at the company's gas and services division, its biggest--accounting for 96% of group sales--, rose 4.6%, or 6.7% on a comparable basis, to EUR6.89 billion. Analysts on FactSet had the division's revenue at EUR6.81 billion.

It added that it will continue to deploy its strategic plan and said that it remains confident in its ability to further increase its operating margin and deliver recurring net profit growth at constant exchange rates.
