Troubled bank Credit Suisse offered to buy back up to 3 billion Swiss francs ($3.03 billion) of debt securities Friday, as it navigates a plunging share price and a rise in bets against its debt.
The Swiss lender also confirmed that it is selling its famous Savoy Hotel in Zurich’s financial district, prompting some speculation that it is scrambling for liquidity.
It comes after Credit Suisse’s shares briefly hit an all-time low earlier this week, and credit default swaps hit a record high, amid market’s skittishness over its future.

You don't seem to understand how ETN's work. They start at a higher price, give a maturity date, and pay out variable rate dividends over time. The basic share price always descends over the years. (Look up any ETN halfway through its maturity date.) But, you get monthly dividends that add up. The gamble with ETNs is whether you make up the initial investment with dividends over time. With SLVO's dropping share price AND dropping dividend, I sold most of mine and put it into USOI. When that repeats what SLVO has done, I will sell it and look for something else that pays monthly dividends.
And for anyone thinking about reverse splits - ETNs don't do that. But there is one thing to beware of, especially with SLVO - the company can call them and pay you the current rate, and you will simply be out of the stock. It has happened to me - the stock simply disappeared out of my portfolio and I was left with cash for them at the then current rate. If you haven't kept up with the dividend cash vs share price drop, you can lose plenty. If you see dropping share price and dwindling dividends, you should remain alert.

This sounds more like sour grapes to me.

You don't like making a dividend on this fund move on to another one that pays 2% if that is more to your liking.

Dividend investing will not make you rich overnight but is a good way to collect income to pay bills. If you are young just reinvest your dividends and overtime it will add up. GL

He recommends stocks in all price ranges. There a few in the $8-10 range. Most of them are in the $20-30 range and some in the higher price range. Doesn't really matter if you are investing for dividends for the long term. SLVO is the lowest price one with the largest dividend yield.

Good choice. I subscribe to the Dividend Hunter and this is on the buy list.
Just buy all you can and hold for the long term and collect those juicy dividends. Don't worry about share price. I started buying at higher prices and will continue to add shares all along.

Dividend investing is the way to go IMO if you are in for the long haul.

I agree bowl - healthy dividend - from my shoes it’s a sweet div and have been watching for PPS entries over last 6 months! I have been buying, like TP during covid. I’ll keep buying too. Not our fault others bought in when higher, that’s the game. Every seasoned investors knows that and the risks. Tune out the ones who lost $. That dividend is a beast!
