Combining superior graphics display performance with touch,
voice, sound and haptic technologies, Visteon's automotive
solutions deliver a human-machine interaction (HMI) experience that
consumers intuitively recognize from their mobile devices.
Making its debut at the show, Visteon's LightScape™ brand
of premium instrument clusters features reconfigurable,
high-resolution color displays offering clarity and graphics
quality considered unmatched in the automotive market.
The range's advanced concept, the high-performance digital
LightScape™ D3.0, incorporates complex 3D graphics, camera
inputs and video features for driver awareness, presented through a
superior quality 12.3-inch display.
A LightScape™ performance-level instrument cluster,
featuring multiple high-resolution displays, is scheduled for
launch with a premier European vehicle manufacturer in 2016.
"Visteon is delivering HD-quality displays that satisfy consumer
preferences for fully reconfigurable automotive user interfaces
with high-resolution graphics," said Martin
T. Thall, president, Visteon Electronics. "We are providing
highly relevant information to the driver, more intuitively, to
successfully deliver a user-experience raising the bar for
automotive applications."
Visteon is also exhibiting a range of advanced cockpit concepts
exploring innovative approaches for drivers and passengers to
safely interact with the vehicle's cockpit electronics system.
The HMeye cockpit concept features an innovative user interface
which, enabled by camera technology, is controlled by the driver's
eye gaze and head direction data, coupled with image attribute
tracking. Selection controls are retained on the steering wheel to
improve response time while allowing the driver to focus on the
road ahead. Further input methods can be added to offer a wide
range of features without compromising the interface's response
time.
Visteon's Horizon Cockpit explores the application of emerging
disruptive technologies related to HMI. Using 3D gesture
recognition to interact with the HMI menu structure, an advanced
camera system maps the driver's gestures through a full kinematic
spatial hand which, in turn, replicates the motion as a virtual
hand on the cockpit's display.
The Horizon Cockpit also features a unique dual-layered display
offering two depths of view, enabling the user to virtually "push"
through the graphics on the first pane to access the second. The
cockpit also incorporates a further touch-sensitive pad, creating a
virtual touch screen.
Visteon's exhibit is located in the Central Plaza #20, at the
Las Vegas Convention Center.
