Firm prioritizes strategic investments to
advance global defense missions
Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) announced today that it has
hired Retired Vice Admiral Roy Kitchener and Retired Major General
David Gaedecke as senior executive advisors within the firm’s
global defense business. In their respective roles, Kitchener and
Gaedecke will provide critical mission context, leadership, and
advanced technological understanding to accelerate the development
and delivery of new solutions and capabilities for complex global
defense challenges.
As Booz Allen continues to prioritize talent investments to
advance defense missions, hiring senior leaders with firsthand
experience in the Department of Defense and strategic global
regions provides the firm with critical mission context and
understanding to help build new defense solutions that reflect the
latest technologies and critical mission challenges.
“With a legacy spanning over a century, Booz Allen stands poised
at an exciting juncture, fueled by a visionary pursuit of
innovation and purpose as we chart our course into the future,”
said Judi Dotson, president of Booz Allen’s global defense
business. “Both Kitchener and Gaedecke bring extensive experience
that will prove invaluable in addressing the Department of
Defense’s most complex mission challenges. With their leadership,
our global defense business will continue to deliver innovation and
technology at the speed of mission need.”
Kitchener will advise Booz Allen on its portfolio of defense
services, spanning capabilities including AI, joint fires,
accelerated readiness, cybersecurity, and logistics to help develop
solutions that will accelerate and advance defense mission
outcomes. A 38-year veteran of the United States Navy, Kitchener
assumes this role after serving the U.S. Navy as commander, Naval
Surface Forces and commander, Naval Surface Forces Pacific, where
he directed the staffing, training, equipping, maintenance,
modernization, and logistics support for 164 warships and 60,000
assigned personnel. Prior to that, Kitchener served as commander,
Naval Surface Force Atlantic, where he led the staffing, training,
and equipping of over 70 ships and oversaw 34 shore commands.
“Booz Allen delivers tomorrow’s technologies at the heart of
global defense missions, accelerating results across the
competition continuum,” said Kitchener. “I look forward to applying
my expertise to strategically support the mission outcomes and help
solve the challenges of the complex battlespace the nation faces
today, and in the future.”
Gaedecke offers a wealth of expertise in mission systems and
technologies related to cybersecurity; electronic warfare (EW); and
intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); and will
serve as a member of the Digital Battlespace Platform and global
defense business leadership teams. He assumes this role after
serving the U.S. Air Force as major general and culminating his
service as the vice commander, Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces
Cyber), Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, wherein he ensured
the readiness of more than 49,000 total force personnel conducting
worldwide operations by delivering EW capabilities and multisource
ISR products, applications, capabilities, and resources, as well as
presented the Air Force Cyber Mission Force to U.S. Cyber
Command.
“Booz Allen develops leading solutions for the Department of
Defense’s biggest challenges in ISR and EW by modernizing mission
systems and technologies to compete and defend against the pacing
threat,” said Gaedecke. “I am excited to serve as part of Booz
Allen’s ISR and EW leadership while supporting mission challenge
analysis, environment and technology scouting, and concept
development.”
