Humana Inc. (HUM) said Friday its chief consumer officer, Jody Bilney, is retiring, effective Dec. 31.

Ms. Bilney will serve as an adviser to the company for a period of time after her retirement, the company said.

Prior to joining Humana in 2013, Ms. Bilney served as executive vice president and chief brand officer at Bloomin' Brands Inc. (BLMN) and held senior executive positions at Charles Schwab Corp. (SCHW) and Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ), according to her biography page on Humana's website.

Humana hasn't named Ms. Bilney's successor.
