ExpressJet Commends Crew of Flight 3161 After Safe Landing at IAH

HOUSTON, May 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Express flight
3161, operated by ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., landed safely at
George Bush Intercontinental Airport at 6:20 p.m. CDT today after
experiencing a tire malfunction. "I want to commend the crew of
flight 3161 for handling this difficult situation with the utmost
in professionalism and ensuring the passengers safety," said
ExpressJet President and CEO Jim Ream. "Our partners at ExpressJet
displayed grace under pressure in ensuring the safety of our
passengers," said Larry Kellner, Continental's chairman and chief
executive officer. "I want to extend my thanks to the crew of the
flight, as well as to my co-workers at the airport who are working
to accommodate the flight's passengers." Continental transported
the flight's 45 customers to the terminal, where they will be
reaccommodated on later flights. The Embraer-145XR originally
departed Houston for Minneapolis/St. Paul at approximately 4 p.m.
