Directors' Shareholdings

The Company has today been informed that the following Directors have changed
their notifiable interests in the ordinary 5p shares in the Company ("Shares").

Mr E S Moore's Individual Savings Account (ISA) purchased 185 Shares at 82.62p
each on 30 September 2003 and 1,132 Shares at 83.40p each on 31 December 2003
(0.001% total). Mr Moore now has an interest in a total of 688,476 Shares
(0.574%).

Mr T R Jones's ISA purchased 136 Shares at 82.62p each on 30 September 2003 and
834 Shares at 83.40p each on 31 December 2003 (0.001% total). Mr Jones's wife,
Mrs M L Jones's ISA also purchased 41 Shares at 82.62p on 30 September 2003 and
254 Shares at 83.40p each on 31 December 2003 (total 0.0002%). Mr Jones now has
