Spooz Files Patent, Copyright Applications Related to Innovative
SpoozToolz(TM) Integrated Trading System CHICAGO, Oct. 14
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spooz, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SPZI) today
announced it has filed several patent applications for its
proprietary software and business processes. The company also
reported it has applied for a copyright on its futures and options
trading program source code. The company has retained Welsh &
Katz, Ltd. as its intellectual property attorneys. "We believe
tremendous value will ensue as a result of Spooz's aggressive
intellectual property protection strategy," said Spooz CEO Paul D.
Strickland, Jr. "We have spent several years and countless hours
designing and perfecting this system and we want to ensure that our
shareholders receive maximum benefit from their support of our
efforts." The company last month formally launched its
SpoozToolz(TM) system, initially designed for futures and options
traders. The program is available for downloading on a free-trial
basis at http://www.spooztoolz.com/ . The two-week trial includes
real-time data from the Chicago Board of Trade, the Chicago
Mercantile Exchange and the Kansas City Board of Trade. Data from
other markets is available on a delayed basis. A full-featured
version, including all real-time streaming data, is available for
$89 a month, plus applicable exchange fees. Spooz products and
services will be first to provide users with the ability to utilize
Microsoft Excel(R) as a stand-alone information resource and
customizable user interface for electronic order execution for
futures, stocks, mutual funds, derivative products such as option
contracts, fixed income, and government securities. Spooz products
give users the ability to design and freely exchange their own
research, analysis and trading screen templates. "We have always
believed that Excel is the standard for those who do their own
market research and that spreadsheets are the common denominator
for the exchange of financial information," Strickland said.
"Spreadsheet programs are the common thread that hold the financial
community together." Strickland added that while the initial launch
of SpoozToolz(TM) -- the company's flagship product -- is designed
primarily for futures and options traders, additional products for
stock and options traders are scheduled to be launched early next
year. About Spooz Spooz, Inc., a publicly traded company based in
Chicago, has developed, tested and proven SpoozToolz in the
commodities marketplace among professional hedgers and traders
throughout the U.S. SpoozToolz is the first totally integrated
program that taps the power of Microsoft Excel by combining

templates that track the real-time market value of users'
