YCO Group plc (AIM: YCO), a leading provider of specialist services to superyachts, today announces the appointment of Scott Lidbetter as non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2011.

Scott Lidbetter had a successful 33 year career in the Royal Navy rising to the rank of Rear Admiral. Subsequently he has held a number of positions on the boards of companies closely involved in corporate and maritime security. This has given him considerable exposure to the global superyacht market.

Scott is non executive chairman of Veritas International Consultancy, a market leading company in maritime security and emergency response, and chairman of the Fleet Air Arm Officers' Association. He is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals and a Freeman of the City of London and holds Queen's Commendations for Valuable Service and Valuable Service in the Air.

His arrival follows YCO's recent hiring of three of the industry's most experienced charter brokers, Tamsin Preistley, Nick Heming and Hume Jones, as well as the appointment last week of Neil Cheston as Director of Sales and Charter. Neil has over 30 years experience in the yacht industry, is the former president of MYBA, the Mediterranean yacht brokers' association, and current chairman of its sales committee.
