PITTSBURGH, May 16, 2024
/PRNewswire/ -- "I'm currently a physician and previously was
employed as a phlebotomist, and I wanted to create an improved
butterfly needle/winged infusion set," said an inventor, from
Latham, N.Y., "so I invented the
Z- LOK BUTTERFLY NEEDLE. My design allows for one-handed blood
collection, and it could reduce the risk of occupational exposure
to bloodborne pathogens."
The invention provides an improved syringe/infusion set for
collection of venous blood, arterial blood draws and the infusion
of medication. In doing so, it offers a cost-effective, manual,
one-handed solution to drawing blood. As a result, it reduces the
incidence of inadvertent needle sticks, and it increases safety.
The invention features a practical design that is easy to use so it
is ideal for health care workers and medical facilities.
Additionally, a prototype model is available upon request.
The original design was submitted to the National sales office
of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to
manufacturers or marketers. For more information, write Dept.
