Will it wash with investors?

Further to the update provided on KiQplanTM in their recent interim results Fitbug, an AIM listed provider of online personal health and well-being services, has confirmed the launch of its “KiQplan” digital health coaching platform, www.KiQplan.com.

KiQplans are designed to make wearable technology relevant to new audiences and take the “so what?” out of activity tracking by providing structured action plans to help people get fitter, lighter and lead happier, healthier lives. Focused on measurable outcomes, KiQplan is like having a trainer, nutritionist and lifestyle guru all rolled into one. Created by leading experts in their respective fields, each KiQplan puts data from wearables to work by providing personal targets, feedback and advice, plus the encouragement needed to achieve specific goals.

Launching in US retailer Target, the first four KiQplans will include specific weight loss programmes for men and women called Beer Belly BlasterTM and Slim + TrimTM respectively, as well as a pre-natal regime called Healthy Baby Bump TM and a post-natal plan called Goodbye Baby Bump TM. Priced at $19.99 in the US, KiQplans are available online at KiQplan.com and in Target stores from 9 November 2014. Retail sales are enabled using a unique gift card based model to enable them to be merchandised alongside wearable technology. KiQplan patent applications have been filed and are “patent pending”. Further KiQplans will be rolled out through 2015. Delivered via an app, KiQplans work with iOS and Android mobile devices to provide highly personalised experiences. Activity targets, resistance workouts, food targets, advice and motivational feedback all adapt to the individual user. They integrate with most leading activity trackers (including Fitbug, and third party trackers such as Jawbone, Nike Fuel, Misfit and Withings), as well as smartphones and watches. Progress is also monitored through lifestyle reports inputted by the user and data from other apps such as MyFitnessPal.

By taking an open approach and allowing KiQplans to integrate with leading third party trackers and not just the Company’s own products, KiQplan is expanding the digital health revolution to as many as people as possible. It is allowing retailers to provide added value to all wearable sales by offering accessories that enhance the hardware purchase.

Malcolm Fried, CEO of Fitbug, said, “With broad compatibility across the fast growing wearables sector, KiQplan adds an important second digital leg to the Fitbug business in addition to its core wearable products.”
