Crunch has been accepted into Cohort 2
of the Solana Incubator program in New York. Through the program,
Crunch will receive tailored support from the Solana Labs team. The
Crunch platform can mobilize a decentralized, global network of
nearly 7,000+ Machine Learning engineers, scientists, and
researchers. This community works in a high-stakes, predictive
challenge format to build advanced Machine Learning models with
higher performance than any traditional centralized team could hope
to accomplish.
This is Solana Lab’s second iteration
of the Incubator program, after launching the first cohort in early
2024. The 3 months program looks to accelerate the progress
of the next blue chip companies on Solana. In this cohort, Crunch
will further grow its decentralised prediction network with help
from the Solana Labs team.
Crunch has made a name for itself at
the intersection of AI and the Web3 through its unique community
and real-world use cases with large institutional players such as
ADIA Lab (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority Research Lab),
collaboration with Nobel Laureate Guido Inbens on Causal AI, and
more recently, work in the healthcare vertical with the Broad
Institute at MIT and Harvard. As a result, it has demonstrated the
ability of its protocol to collaborate with research and
industry.
The platform acts as a coordination
layer, connecting organizations with machine learning needs with a
global community of “crunchers”, the researchers and data
scientists who are able to take in data and parameters and design
various machine learning models that can accurately predict the
results needed for these organizations. The center of the CrunchDAO
model is the “Crunch”, a specific prediction challenge, structured
to meet specific and customer-defined needs and requirements.
Because the challenges are highly
competitive, with generous rewards, the massive global community
around CrunchDAO is able to focus its collective efforts on a
singular problem and apply a very broad range of perspectives,
experience, and innovation. The top models from these
competitions are aggregated in predictive feeds, with continuous
learning that does not stop as further competitions help to refine
the model’s accuracy.
"Being accepted into the Solana Incubator is a pivotal
milestone for Crunch," said Jean Herelle, CEO of Crunch. "Solana's
unparalleled speed and scalability align perfectly with our mission
to democratize access to predictive intelligence. This support
strengthens our ability to innovate, empowering a global network of
contributors to redefine what's possible in decentralized
prediction modeling."
The Solana Incubator will support
Crunch Lab, which enables “crunchers” across the globe to design
and construct their best predictive models without investing the
massive resources needed for raw data, creating revenue-driving
models quickly and cheaply. All this, and, with the high
performance, scalable Solana blockchain, the crunchers will be able
to maintain both scalability and security as they deploy their
predictive financial models into the ecosystem.
"We're excited to have Crunch join the Solana
Incubator," said Emon Motamedi, head of the Solana Incubator.
“Crunch’s unique approach to leveraging collective intelligence for
better predictive insights is an exciting application of Web3, and
we’re delighted to support them on this journey.”
