TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2004-- Following 45 per cent annual revenue growth, company experiences delays in distributor sales and seasonal slowdown in key account sales in North America
WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTCBB: WAVC - News), a leading global provider of fixed wireless Internet access products, today announced it expects to report revenues of approximately (U.S.)$2,300,000 for its first fiscal quarter, ended March 31, 2004, compared to first quarter FY2003 revenues of $3,178,000.

"WaveRider has consistently generated positive annual revenue growth through our customer-focused sales approach, successful product development initiatives, and increasing presence in the broadband wireless market," said Bruce Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer, WaveRider Communications Inc. "Despite our disappointment in our first quarter revenue, we have maintained strong profit margins and continue to expand our customer base. We are confident that we will return to a pattern of increased quarterly sales in Q2."
"During 2003 WaveRider implemented a distributor and large account program in North America that resulted in new customers and 45 per cent revenue growth," added Sinclair. "However, our current dependence on a single product line designed primarily for one market, although it is industry leading, made us vulnerable to seasonal and individual buying fluctuations beyond our control this past quarter. We are still confident that we will reach cash flow positive operations by the end of 2004."
"WaveRider's market and product expansion strategy are critical steps towards insuring that WaveRider is well positioned to participate in the broadband wireless market growth that is forecasted for 2005 through 2007," added Sinclair. "We intend to continue to support our existing customers with the industry's best products and service and to help them expand their networks, while working to secure new customers both in North America and internationally."
WaveRider will host its Q1 2004 conference call on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. (EDT). Details to be announced.

WaveRider and ANPI/NewStreets Bring Wireless Broadband to 300 Telecommunications Providers
Wednesday March 24, 11:24 am ET
New Broadband Deployment Program Includes Preferred Services and Benefits for ANPI/NewStreets Affiliates
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2004-- WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTCBB: WAVC - News), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology and deployments, today announced an agreement for a broadband deployment program in association with ANPI/NewStreets, a member-owned consortium comprised of more than 300 Independent telephone companies throughout the United States. The program includes aggressive marketing activities, network design and customer support services for WaveRider's 900 MHz non-line-of-sight products and other unique member benefits.

ANPI/NewStreets will market WaveRider's products to its affiliates via its sales team and advertising programs. In addition, ANPI (Associated Network Partners Inc.) will provide business modeling, network planning and design, marketing programs and collateral, and front-line support to its members deploying WaveRider's equipment.
"WaveRider's non-line-of-sight wireless products were recommended to ANPI by several member companies that are planning large-scale wireless broadband networks. By leveraging ANPI's collective scale, we have combined substantially enhanced economics with the innate benefits of non-line of sight 900 MHz wireless systems," said Dave Lewis, President and CEO of ANPI/NewStreets. "This opportunity allows our member companies to enhance their competitive position and profitability as it relates to the provisioning of broadband services. Several of our member companies have already recognized the opportunities of this initiative and have placed equipment orders."
"We're looking forward to working collaboratively with WaveRider and our members to introduce further product enhancements and next generation technology," added Lewis. "We've been impressed with WaveRider's commitment to this partnership and leadership in the non-line-of-sight wireless broadband industry. Additionally, we have heard great things from our members who've already used WaveRider's equipment, and they are elated with the enhanced pricing we've been able to offer them."
One of the first ANPI-NewStreets affiliates to purchase WaveRider's products through the new program is Adams NetWorks, Inc. of Illinois, which launched its wireless broadband service in 2003. Adams plans to rapidly expand its WaveRider 900 MHz wireless broadband network throughout Illinois and Missouri in 2004.
"As a result of our work with Adams NetWorks, Inc. and many other telecommunications companies across the United States, WaveRider has established a strong awareness of the business and technology needs of that sector," said Charles Brown, Executive Vice President, WaveRider Communications Inc. "We believe this broadband wireless program will enable WaveRider to grow its presence and establish more relationships with successful telecommunications providers. We look forward to helping ANPI/NewStreets to support its affiliates throughout every phase of their wireless network deployments."
