CVR Energy Names Daly as Executive VP of Strategy

SUGAR LAND, Texas, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CVR Energy Inc.
(NYSE:CVI) announced today that Dan Daly has been named executive
vice president, strategy. Daly reports to Jack Lipinski, chief

expanded role, Daly will be responsible for identifying
opportunities and directing programs leading to CVR Energy's
operational and financial growth. He also will continue to be
responsible for oversight of CVR Energy's accounting and controls.

Lipinski. "He brings to the company an extensive background in
refining, but his real value to CVR Energy is his sound judgment
and the solid business acumen he contributes to the company every
day." After graduating from St. Louis University in 1968 with a
bachelor's degree in commerce, Daly joined Shell Oil Company at its
Wood River Refinery outside St. Louis. At Shell he gained a broad
background in refining, working accounting assignments attached to
refining, transportation, supply and marketing. He eventually
became a senior analyst in manufacturing finance. In 1978, Daly
moved to The Coastal Corporation, where during a 23 year career he
became vice president and controller of refining, marketing and
trading operations. Upon the sale of Coastal to El Paso Corporation
in 2001, Daly became vice president and controller for Tosco
Corporation and later an independent consultant with Prudentia
Energy. In June 2005, he joined Coffeyville Resources, helping
guide the newly formed company through restructuring, expansion and
an initial public offering which resulted in CVR Energy Inc
becoming a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange on
