Approval of Strategic Guidelines for Green Hydrogen

 

Rio de Janeiro, November 24, 2023, Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S/A – Eletrobras informs that its Board of Directors has approved Strategic Guidelines for green hydrogen (or low-carbon hydrogen) in order to guide its performance in relation to the prospects for expanding its production and use in the national and global energy matrix. The priorities for Eletrobras are:

 

1.

Supply the electricity demand of the green hydrogen production chain and derivatives with clean and renewable energy and evaluate opportunities for its production;

2.

Establish strategic alliances with potential customers and suppliers, increasing the competitiveness of green hydrogen and derivatives production projects;

3.

Influence, in Brazil and abroad, the scale, technological integration and institutional support for green hydrogen and derivatives operations, fostering the dissemination of information and technological change of current and potential customers, actively participating in the defense and support of the decarbonization agenda;

4.

Promote and support research, development and innovation projects in the production and use chain of green hydrogen.

 

As the leader in electricity generation and transmission in the country, and in line with its decarbonization strategy, Eletrobras continues to contribute to making the Brazilian energy matrix one of the cleanest and most renewable in the world and reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development, with innovation and excellence.
