Passenger traffic

In April 2009, passenger traffic at A�roports de Paris (Paris:ADP) dropped by 1.7% compared to April 2008. Paris airports handled a total of 7.3 million passengers divided up between 5.1�million for Paris-Charles de Gaulle (-1.9%) and 2.2 million for Paris-Orly (-1.2%). The spring break in Paris area, which occurred in April this year but in April and May last year, had a favourable impact on traffic. Over the first four months of the year, traffic dropped by 6.7%.

• This month of April was marked by a slight decline in international traffic of 1.2%. Traffic on routes to and from Africa was dynamic. It grew by 4.7% pulled by North African destinations.Traffic on North America routes fell by 1.1% while Latin America dropped by 7.6%. On Middle Eastern and Asian routes, traffic dropped by 2.0% and 7.9% respectively.

• Domestic traffic stood at -3.7%.
• European traffic fell by 1.4% including -1.0% on Schengen routes and -1.1% for the British and Irish markets.

The number of transfer passengers increased by 0.1% in April 2009 compared with April 2008. Over the first four months of the year, the number of transfer passengers decreased by 5.0%, putting the rate of transfers at 24.9% (24.4% over the first four months of 2008).

Aircraft movements

The number of aircraft movements saw a 4.3% decrease in April 2009 year on year (-4.9% at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and -2.8% at Paris-Orly). The passenger load factor reached 75.5% compared with 74.2% in April 2008.
