EDF Energies Nouvelles Commissions 67.5 MW Mexico Wind Farm

French renewable power company EDF Energies Nouvelles SA
(EEN.FR) Wednesday said it has commissioned the Mexican wind farm
La Mata La Ventosa, which has a total installed capacity of 67.5
MW.
MAIN FACTS:
- La Mata La Ventosa wind farm is situated in the state of
Oaxaca in southern Mexico, in the Tehuantepec Isthmus where wind
resources are particularly favorable, the company said.
- It comprises 27 turbines with a capacity of 2.5 MW each,
supplied by US manufacturer Clipper Windpower (CWP.LN).
- The electricity generated by the wind farm will meet the
consumption needs of a number of stores owned by retailer Walmart
Mexico, with whom a 15-year electricity supply agreement has been
signed under the self-supply regulations of Mexico.
- EDF Energies Nouvelles is 50% owned by French state-controlled
utility group Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR).
