                 Shieldtech plc ("Shieldtech" or "the Company")

                               Holding in Company

The Company has been informed that, as at 24 July 2007, NVM Private Equity
Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NVM Group Limited ("NVM"), indirectly
holds a total of 3,010,000 ordinary shares of one pence each in the Company,
representing 5.73% of the issued ordinary share capital.

The above notification was made by NVM in line with the FSA's Disclosure and
Transparency Rules (the "DTR"). The DTR requires the separate reporting of
holdings in shares held by NVM and its direct and indirect subsidiaries and this
means that the holding of the balance of 990,000 ordinary shares subscribed for
by funds managed by NVM in the recent placing does not need to be reported to
the Company as it is below the 3% reporting threshold.
