The modern world has become so distraught that such a trifling thing as memes has now become a significant tool in business and not only. The cryptocurrency market is also influenced by memes, as it turns out, especially about dogs. Let’s see why the entire cryptocurrency community is talking about Dogecoin (DOGE).

What is Dogecoin?

Dogecoin was created in 2013 by programmers Bill Marcus and Jackson Palmer as a joke. The symbol of this cryptocurrency is the famous “Doge” meme. It depicts a Shiba Inu dog, to which various texts are often added.

Why is everyone talking about Dogecoin and Elon Musk?

On April the 1st 2019, on the Dogecoin official Twitter account, users were offered in a joking manner to choose a new CEO for the project. Among the candidates was Elon Musk, for whom the majority of votes were cast. At the end of January 2021, Elon Musk wrote several tweets showing support of the cryptocurrency, started posting memes, etc. Thanks to these tweets, Dogecoin grew by 50% in a matter of hours. You can easily check Doge or other pairs, e.g. XMR to BTC exchange.

Dog tokens are a long-term trend or a short-term fashion?

Dogecoin is not the only project with a dog as the main symbol. Let’s get acquainted with his clones.

KISHU INU

One of the Dogecoin clones is Kishu Inu. The project is much younger than Dogecoin. It appeared in 2021 to popularize the phenomenon of cryptocurrency and contribute to its widespread adoption by the masses. The project plans to create its token, a trading platform, a decentralized exchange, a wallet tracker, a product store, and much more.

SHIBA INU

Shiba Inu advertises itself as a Dogecoin killer. Even though there is still a long way to the launch of a real product, the SHIB token (built on Ethereum) has achieved indescribable success lately.

FLOKI INU

Floki Inu (FLOKI) can also be attributed to several young but ambitious projects. The token is named after a Shiba Inu puppy. The project focuses on the NFT theme, trying not to miss the wave of Dogecoin popularity and non-fungible tokens that get so much hype this year.
