It has become very evident that US sports have continued to amass a widespread amount of intrigue from fans across the world in various continents such as Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.

One nation that has expressed a considerable amount of interest in the various US leagues and individual franchises, resides with UK audiences across the Atlantic Ocean, with many UK viewers now often showcasing their support for a number of US teams by attending various internationally based games and staying up late into the morning hours to catch their team live in action.

There are many reasons as to why/how the UK audience viewership numbers are continuing to rise at an exponential rate for more US sporting broadcasts, with one of the main contributing factors often being that available rights that many UK media sources have acquired to broadcast numerous US sports to their own demographic as well as the continued coverage in an abundance of UK media forms.

The likes of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS are all widely covered and regularly broadcasted to a vast sum of audience members throughout the UK with many more events also attracting a number of suitors that have continuously expressed their interest in sports.

  • Which sports could likely earn more coverage in the UK?

One of the US’ most predominant and increasingly popular sporting commodities resides in the nation’s collegiate sports outings which include an abundance of the top-upcoming athletes who could be set to take the sporting landscape by storm in the coming years.

Given that UK fans have expressed their passion towards the NBA and NFL, there is a growing desire amongst overseas audiences to include NCAA action on their mainstream showings, which includes the coverage of the March Madness tournament.

Fans in the UK have also showcased their love and involvement in betting across various sports from around the world, with the latest March Madness lines on the BetUS sportsbook being the perfect platform for any eager betting fan to become more affiliated with the top contenders for this year’s tournament, which includes the Houston Cougars and Alabama Crimson Tide.

There is an increased amount of questions raised surrounding why college sports have not been capable of attaining further media coverage in the UK with one of the main reasons being the fact that it remains a great challenge for a majority of media corporations to include a fair share of major and minor sports from across the globe on their mainstream broadcasts.

While these sports may often be published or discussed across other forms of media such as news articles, podcasts or online videos, there has remained a great amount of pressure placed on the media from a widespread demographic to prioritize a select number of regional, or more universally beloved sports, over other aspects such as college sports that may only appease a select group of individuals at this current juncture.

Whether this is likely to change remains up for debate as UK-based sports fans have continued to voice their love for the college game and have clamored for more broadcasts to appear on their screens featuring all the best action and athletes from the collegiate circuit.

  • What is the future surrounding the coverage of US sports in the UK?

It has already been made abundantly clear to the many major leagues across the US that their international following has grown by a considerable rate over the past few decades, which has allowed these leagues to generate a greater amount of revenue from TV viewership’s and streaming subscriptions.

Since this surge in viewership from international sports fans, particularly in the UK, most major leagues have since staged various sporting events overseas at a variety of decorated global venues.

The NFL has since signed deals that will allow teams to perform one game overseas, with the Jacksonville Jaguars being a particular hot commodity for UK audiences given that the team plays a singular game in London every year and that the club’s owner is linked with the British sporting system due to his ties with the Fulham FC soccer team in the Premier League.

There will likely be a considerable amount of fixtures and wider coverage for all events that will be staged in the UK which is only expected to increase with other UK venues being labelled as possible hosting candidates and even numerous other nations that will host games such as the recent NFL outings in Germany and Mexico.

The demand for future broadcasting of US sporting contests within the UK is continuing to grow at an exponential rate with more audiences now showcasing their passion and knowledge for the sports they love across the world.
