Shares in Entain (LSE:ENT) fell sharply on Tuesday morning after the company announced that its chief executive, Gavin Isaacs, was leaving the company immediately after less than six months in charge.
The gambling group, which owns betting shops Ladbrokes and Coral, did not give a reason for Isaacs’ departure, simply saying that it was by “mutual agreement”.
The surprise exit comes after the previous boss Jette Nygaard-Andersen resigned at the end of 2023, after shareholders were reported to be unhappy with her leadership.
Shares in Entain dropped 11.7% following the announcement on Tuesday morning.
Entain said its non-executive chairwoman, Stella David, would become chief executive on an interim basis until it finds a permanent replacement. She previously took on the role temporarily after Ms Nygaard-Andersen left the company.
