UK BRC shop price index dropped in September

The BRC shop price index in the UK recorded a drop of 1.80% on an annual basis, in September. The BRC shop price index had dropped 2.00% in the prior month.

UK construction PMI recorded an unexpected rise in September

The construction PMI advanced unexpectedly to a level of 52.30 in September, in the UK, compared to market expectations of a drop to a level of 49.00. The construction PMI had recorded a level of 49.20 in the previous month.

Euro-zone PPI declined more than expected in August

In August, the producer price index (PPI) dropped 0.20% in the Euro-zone on a monthly basis, higher than market expectations for a fall of 0.10%. The PPI had recorded a revised rise of 0.30% in the prior month.

Number of people unemployed in Spain rose in September

Number of people unemployed in Spain advanced by 22.80 K in September, lower than market expectations of an advance of 23.30 K. Number of people unemployed had registered a gain of 14.40 K in the prior month.

US economic optimism index advanced in October

In October, the economic optimism index rose to a level of 49.60 in the US. In the previous month, the economic optimism index had registered a level of 46.70.

US Redbook index fell in the last week

The seasonally adjusted Redbook index in the US recorded a drop of 0.40% in the week ended 30 September 2016 on a monthly basis. In the prior week, the Redbook index had fallen 0.50%.

US New York City current business condition index advanced in September

In the US, the New York City current business condition index advanced to 49.60 in September. In the previous month, the New York City current business condition index had registered a reading of 47.50.

US Redbook index rose in the last week

In the US, the Redbook index registered a rise of 1.30% on a YoY basis, in the week ended 30 September 2016. The Redbook index had climbed 0.20% in the prior week.

Japanese consumer confidence index registered an unexpected rise in September

Compared to a level of 42.00 in the prior month the consumer confidence index advanced unexpectedly to 43.00 in September, in Japan. Market anticipation was for the consumer confidence index to ease to a level of 41.50.

Japanese Markit composite PMI declined in September

In September, Markit composite PMI in Japan fell to a level of 48.90. In the prior month, Markit composite PMI had registered a reading of 49.80.
