UK manufacturing PMI surprisingly dropped in June

In June, the manufacturing PMI in the UK registered an unexpected drop to 54.30, compared to market expectations of a steady reading. In the prior month, the manufacturing PMI had recorded a revised reading of 56.30.

Euro-zone manufacturing PMI rose in June

In June, the final manufacturing PMI in the Euro-zone climbed to 57.40, compared to a level of 57.00 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the manufacturing PMI to advance to a level of 57.30. The preliminary figures had recorded an advance to 57.30.

Euro-zone unemployment rate remained flat in May

The unemployment rate remained steady at 9.30% in the Euro-zone, in May, at par with market expectations.

German manufacturing PMI surprisingly climbed in June

In Germany, the final manufacturing PMI registered an unexpected rise to a level of 59.60 in June, compared to a reading of 59.50 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for manufacturing PMI to drop to 59.30. The preliminary figures had recorded a fall to 59.30.

French manufacturing PMI rose in June

Compared to a reading of 53.80 in the prior month the final manufacturing PMI recorded a rise to 54.80 in June, in France. The preliminary figures had indicated an advance to 55.00. Markets were anticipating manufacturing PMI to climb to 55.00.

Italian manufacturing PMI rose in June

The manufacturing PMI in Italy registered a rise to 55.20 in June, compared to a reading of 55.10 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the manufacturing PMI to rise to a level of 55.30.

Italian unemployment rate unexpectedly rose in May

Unemployment rate registered an unexpected rise to 11.30% in Italy, in May, compared to market expectations of an unchanged reading. In the previous month, unemployment rate had recorded a revised level of 11.20%.

Spanish manufacturing PMI unexpectedly slid in June

The manufacturing PMI in Spain fell unexpectedly to a level of 54.70 in June, lower than market expectations of an advance to a level of 55.60. The manufacturing PMI had recorded a level of 55.40 in the prior month.

Swiss real retail sales dropped in May

Real retail sales registered a drop of 0.30% on an annual basis in Switzerland, in May. In the prior month, real retail sales had registered a revised drop of 0.90%.

Swiss SVME manufacturing PMI rose in June

The SVME manufacturing PMI rose to a level of 60.10 in Switzerland, in June, compared to market expectations of an advance to 56.30. The SVME manufacturing PMI had registered a reading of 55.60 in the previous month.

US ISM manufacturing activity index rose in June

In June, the ISM manufacturing activity index in the US advanced to 57.80, compared to a level of 54.90 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the ISM manufacturing activity index to advance to 55.20.

US ISM backlog orders climbed in June

ISM backlog orders recorded a rise to 57.00 in June, in the US, compared to a level of 55.00 in the previous month.

US Markit manufacturing PMI dropped in June

The final Markit manufacturing PMI recorded a drop to 52.00 in June, in the US, lower than market expectations of a fall to 52.10. The preliminary figures had indicated a fall to 52.10. In the prior month, the Markit manufacturing PMI had recorded a reading of 52.70.

US ISM inventories dropped in June

ISM inventories in the US fell to a level of 49.00 in June, compared to a reading of 51.50 in the previous month.

US ISM production climbed in June

In June, ISM production climbed to 62.40 in the US, compared to a level of 57.10 in the prior month.

US ISM prices paid index dropped in June

In June, the ISM prices paid index in the US recorded a drop to 55.00, compared to a reading of 60.50 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating the ISM prices paid index to fall to 58.50.

US construction spending steadied in May

Construction spending in the US remained unchanged in May on a MoM basis, compared to a revised drop of 0.70% in the prior month. Markets were expecting construction spending to advance 0.30%.

US ISM new orders rose in June

ISM new orders rose to a level of 63.50 in the US, in June, compared to a level of 59.50 in the prior month.

Japanese vehicle sales rose in June

On an annual basis, vehicle sales advanced 9.70% in Japan, in June. Vehicle sales had risen 6.10% in the previous month.

Japanese monetary base rose less than expected in June

The monetary base registered a rise of 17.00% on an annual basis in June, in Japan, lower than market expectations for a rise of 19.20%. In the previous month, the monetary base had climbed 19.40%.

Japanese consumer confidence index unexpectedly dropped in June

In June, the consumer confidence index in Japan eased unexpectedly to 43.30, compared to a reading of 43.60 in the previous month. Market expectation was for the consumer confidence index to rise to 43.90.
