UK construction PMI surprisingly fell in August

The construction PMI in the UK recorded an unexpected drop to a level of 51.10 in August, compared to market expectations of a rise to a level of 52.00. In the prior month, the construction PMI had registered a level of 51.90.

UK retail sales across all sectors advanced in August

On an annual basis, retail sales across all sectors registered a rise of 1.30% in August, in the UK. In the previous month, retail sales across all sectors had registered a rise of 0.90%.

Euro-zone producer price index (PPI) remained unchanged in July

In July, the producer price index (PPI) remained flat on a monthly basis in the Euro-zone, compared to a revised fall of 0.20% in the previous month. Markets were anticipating the producer price index (PPI) to advance 0.10%.

Euro-zone investor confidence index surprisingly climbed in September

In September, the investor confidence index registered an unexpected rise to 28.20 in the Euro-zone, higher than market expectations of a fall to a level of 27.00. The investor confidence index had recorded a level of 27.70 in the prior month.

Number of people unemployed in Spain advanced in August

In Spain, number of people unemployed rose by 46.40 K in August, following a decline of 26.90 K in the previous month. Market expectation was for number of people unemployed to rise 12.00 K.

Japanese Markit composite PMI advanced in August

In August, Markit composite PMI registered a rise to 51.90 in Japan. In the prior month, Markit composite PMI had recorded a reading of 51.80.

Chinese Caixin/Markit services PMI index advanced in August

In China, the Caixin/Markit services PMI index advanced to 52.70 in August. The Caixin/Markit services PMI index had recorded a reading of 51.50 in the previous month.

Chinese Caixin composite PMI climbed in August

Caixin composite PMI climbed to 52.40 in August, in China. Caixin composite PMI had registered a level of 51.90 in the previous month.
