UK new car registrations declined in October

In the UK, new car registrations fell 12.20% on a YoY basis, in October. New car registrations had recorded a drop of 9.30% in the previous month.

UK retail sales across all sectors unexpectedly dropped in October

On a YoY basis, retail sales across all sectors unexpectedly dropped 1.00% in October, in the UK, compared to a rise of 1.90% in the previous month. Markets were anticipating retail sales across all sectors to advance 0.80%.

Euro-zone composite PMI slid in October

The final composite PMI in the Euro-zone dropped to 56.00 in October, compared to a level of 56.70 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating composite PMI to ease to 55.90. The preliminary figures had indicated a drop to 55.90.

Euro-zone investor confidence index advanced in November

The investor confidence index in the Euro-zone climbed to 34.00 in November, compared to market expectations of a rise to 31.00. The investor confidence index had registered a level of 29.70 in the previous month.

Euro-zone services PMI dropped in October

In the Euro-zone, the final services PMI fell to a level of 55.00 in October, compared to a reading of 55.80 in the prior month. Markets were expecting services PMI to ease to a level of 54.90. The preliminary figures had indicated a drop to 54.90.

Euro-zone PPI rose more than expected in September

On a MoM basis, in September, the producer price index (PPI) climbed 0.60% in the Euro-zone, higher than market expectations for an advance of 0.40%. In the prior month, the PPI had recorded a rise of 0.30%.

German services PMI fell in October

The final services PMI in Germany registered a drop to 54.70 in October, compared to market expectations of a drop to a level of 55.20. The preliminary figures had indicated a fall to 55.20. In the previous month, services PMI had recorded a reading of 55.60.

German Markit composite PMI dropped in October

In October, the final Markit composite PMI registered a drop to 56.60 in Germany, compared to a level of 57.70 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated a drop to 56.90. Market expectation was for Markit composite PMI to fall to a level of 56.90.

German factory orders advanced more than expected in September

In September, the non-seasonally adjusted factory orders advanced 9.50% on an annual basis in Germany, more than market expectations for a rise of 7.10%. In the previous month, factory orders had climbed by a revised 8.30%.

German factory orders unexpectedly rose in September

On a monthly basis in Germany, the seasonally adjusted factory orders registered an unexpected rise of 1.00% in September, compared with market expectations for a drop of 1.10%. In the prior month, factory orders had registered a revised rise of 4.10%.

French services PMI climbed in October

In October, the final services PMI rose to a level of 57.30 in France, lower than market expectations of an advance to 57.40. The preliminary figures had indicated a rise to 57.40. In the prior month, services PMI had recorded a reading of 57.00.

French Markit composite PMI climbed in October

In October, the final Markit composite PMI in France advanced to 57.40, compared to market expectations of a rise to 57.50. Markit composite PMI had registered a reading of 57.10 in the previous month. The preliminary figures had recorded an advance to 57.50.

Italian services PMI slid in October

In October, the services PMI in Italy eased to 52.10, compared to market expectations of a fall to 52.90. The services PMI had recorded a level of 53.20 in the prior month.

Spanish services PMI declined in October

In October, the services PMI in Spain eased to 54.60, lower than market expectations of a fall to a level of 55.60. The services PMI had recorded a reading of 56.70 in the previous month.

Swiss EU HICP climbed in October

The EU harmonised consumer price index (HICP) registered a rise of 0.10% on a MoM basis in Switzerland, in October. In the prior month, the EU HICP had recorded a rise of 0.20%.

Swiss CPI advanced as expected in October

The consumer price index (CPI) in Switzerland registered a rise of 0.70% on an annual basis in October, in line with market expectations. The CPI had registered a similar rise in the previous month.

Swiss EU HICP climbed in October

The EU HICP in Switzerland recorded a rise of 0.80% in October on an annual basis. In the previous month, the EU HICP had registered a similar rise.

Swiss CPI rose as expected in October

On a monthly basis, the CPI in Switzerland advanced 0.10% in October, at par with market expectations. The CPI had risen 0.20% in the previous month.

Canadian Ivey PMI climbed in October

The seasonally adjusted Ivey PMI in Canada registered a rise to 63.80 in October, compared to a reading of 59.60 in the previous month.

Canadian Ivey PMI slid in October

The non-seasonally adjusted Ivey PMI registered a drop to 63.50 in October, in Canada, compared to a level of 68.60 in the previous month.

Japanese labour cash earnings rose more than expected in September

On a YoY basis, labour cash earnings advanced 0.90% in September, in Japan, compared to a similar rise in the prior month. Markets were anticipating labour cash earnings to advance 0.50%.
