UK Markit composite PMI declined in February

In February, the final Markit composite PMI dropped to 54.50 in the UK, higher than market expectations of a fall to 53.60. The preliminary figures had recorded a fall to 53.50. In the previous month, Markit composite PMI had recorded a level of 58.80.

UK services PMI climbed in February

The services PMI rose to a level of 54.50 in the UK, in February, compared to market expectations of an advance to a level of 53.30. The services PMI had registered a level of 53.00 in the previous month.

UK new car registrations fell in February

In the UK, new car registrations registered a drop of 2.80% in February on a YoY basis. In the previous month, new car registrations had fallen 6.30%.

UK official reserves rose in February

In the UK, official reserves rose $651.00 million, in February. In the previous month, official reserves had risen $1709.00 million.

UK retail sales across all sectors rose more than expected in February

On an annual basis in February, retail sales across all sectors registered a rise of 0.60% in the UK, more than market expectations for a rise of 0.50%. In the previous month, retail sales across all sectors had registered a similar rise.

Euro-zone investor confidence index fell in March

In the Euro-zone, the investor confidence index fell to a level of 24.00 in March, compared to market expectations of a drop to a level of 30.90. In the previous month, the investor confidence index had recorded a reading of 31.90.

Euro-zone services PMI fell in February

In the Euro-zone, the final services PMI dropped to 56.20 in February, compared to market expectations of a drop to 56.70. Services PMI had registered a reading of 58.00 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated a fall to 56.70.

Euro-zone retail sales rose more than expected in January

Eurostat has reported that, in January, the seasonally adjusted retail sales rose 2.30% in the Euro-zone on a YoY basis, compared to a revised rise of 2.10% in the previous month. Market expectation was for retail sales to rise 2.00%.

Euro-zone retail sales declined as expected in January

In January, the seasonally adjusted retail sales registered a drop of 0.10% in the Euro-zone on a monthly basis, meeting market expectations. In the previous month, retail sales had dropped by a revised 1.00%.

Euro-zone composite PMI declined in February

The final composite PMI in the Euro-zone registered a drop to 57.10 in February, compared to a level of 58.80 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating composite PMI to ease to 57.50. The preliminary figures had indicated a drop to 57.50.

German Markit composite PMI declined in February

In February, the final Markit composite PMI registered a drop to 57.60 in Germany, compared to market expectations of a drop to 57.40. The preliminary figures had indicated a fall to 57.40. In the previous month, Markit composite PMI had recorded a reading of 59.00.

German services PMI eased in February

The final services PMI dropped to 55.30 in Germany, in February, compared to a reading of 57.30 in the previous month. Markets were anticipating services PMI to ease to a level of 55.30. The preliminary figures had also recorded a fall to 55.30.

French services PMI dropped in February

The final services PMI dropped to 57.40 in France, in February, compared to market expectations of a fall to 57.90. Services PMI had recorded a reading of 59.20 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated a fall to 57.90.

French Markit composite PMI slid in February

In February, the final Markit composite PMI eased to 57.30 in France, compared to market expectations of a fall to a level of 57.80. The preliminary figures had recorded a fall to 57.80. In the previous month, Markit composite PMI had recorded a reading of 59.60.

Italian services PMI declined in February

In February, the services PMI dropped to 55.00 in Italy, compared to market expectations of a fall to a level of 57.00. The services PMI had recorded a level of 57.70 in the prior month.

Spanish services PMI surprisingly rose in February

The services PMI in Spain rose unexpectedly to a level of 57.30 in February, compared to a level of 56.90 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the services PMI to ease to a level of 56.50.

US Markit composite PMI climbed in February

The final Markit composite PMI rose to a level of 55.80 in February, in the US, compared to a reading of 53.80 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated an advance to 55.90.

US Markit services PMI rose in February

In February, the final Markit services PMI advanced to 55.90 in the US, at par with market expectations. Markit services PMI had registered a level of 53.30 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had also recorded a rise to 55.90.

US non-manufacturing PMI declined in February

The non-manufacturing PMI eased to 59.50 in the US in February, compared to a reading of 59.90 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the non-manufacturing PMI to ease to 59.00.
