Swiss producer and import price index rose in March
On a YoY basis, the producer and import price index advanced 2.00% in Switzerland, in March. The producer and import price index had risen 2.30% in the previous month.
US advance retail sales rose more than expected in March
On a monthly basis, advance retail sales rose 0.60% in the US, in March, more than market expectations for an advance of 0.40%. In the prior month, advance retail sales had recorded a drop of 0.10%.
Chinese GDP rose as expected in 1Q 2018
The gross domestic product (GDP) rose 6.80% in China on an annual basis in 1Q 2018, compared to a similar rise in the previous quarter. Markets were expecting GDP to rise 6.80%.
Chinese industrial production advanced less than expected in March
On an annual basis, in March, industrial production advanced 6.00% in China, compared to an advance of 6.20% in the prior month. Markets were anticipating industrial production to climb 6.30%.
Chinese retail sales rose more than expected in March
In March, retail sales in China advanced 10.10% on a YoY basis, compared to an advance of 9.40% in the prior month. Market expectation was for retail sales to advance 9.70%.
