UK manufacturing PMI surprisingly rose in December

In the UK, the manufacturing PMI unexpectedly rose to a level of 54.20 in December, compared to a revised level of 53.60 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for the index to fall to a level of 52.50.

Euro-zone manufacturing PMI dropped in December

The final manufacturing PMI in the Euro-zone dropped to a level of 51.40 in December, meeting market expectations. In the prior month, the index had recorded a reading of 51.80.

German manufacturing PMI fell in December

In Germany, the final manufacturing PMI recorded a drop to a level of 51.50 in December, meeting market expectations. The index had registered a reading of 51.80 in the last month.

US Markit manufacturing PMI eased in December

The final Markit manufacturing PMI in the US registered a drop to a level of 53.80 in December, compared to a reading of 55.30 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for the index to drop to a level of 53.90.

Canadian manufacturing PMI declined in December

In Canada, the manufacturing PMI registered a drop to a level of 53.60 in December, compared to a reading of 54.90 in the prior month.
