UK BRC shop price index climbed in January
In the UK, the BRC shop price index climbed 0.40% on an annual basis, in January. The index had registered a rise of 0.30% in the prior month.
Swiss trade surplus narrowed in December
Trade surplus in Switzerland narrowed to CHF 1.79 billion in December, following a revised trade surplus of CHF 3.00 billion in the prior month.
US CB consumer confidence index dropped in January
The CB consumer confidence index in the US dropped to a level of 120.20 in January, compared to a revised reading of 126.60 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the index to drop to a level of 124.00.
Japanese consumer confidence index fell in January
The consumer confidence index in Japan dropped to a level of 41.90 in January, lower than market expectations of a fall to a reading of 42.40. The index had recorded a level of 42.70 in the previous month.
