UK services PMI surprisingly advanced in February
The services PMI in the UK recorded an unexpected rise to a level of 51.30 in February, compared to market expectations of a fall to a reading of 49.90. In the previous month, the index had recorded a reading of 50.10.
Euro-zone services PMI advanced in February
The final services PMI in the Euro-zone registered a rise to a level of 52.80 in February, compared to a reading of 51.20 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the index to advance to a level of 52.30.
Euro-zone retail sales rose as expected in January
On a monthly basis, the seasonally adjusted retail sales in the Euro-zone advanced 1.30% in January, in line with market expectations. Retail sales had recorded a revised drop of 1.40% in the prior month.
German services PMI climbed in February
The final services PMI in Germany climbed to a level of 55.30 in February, compared to a reading of 53.00 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for the index to climb to a level of 55.10.
US Markit services PMI rose in February
The final Markit services PMI in the US registered a rise to a level of 56.00 in February, compared to a revised reading of 54.20 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for the index to climb to a level of 56.20.
