The Ifo business expectations index in Germany recorded an unexpected rise to a level of 95.60 in March, compared to a revised reading of 94.00 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the index to record a steady reading.
German Ifo current assessment index surprisingly climbed in March
The Ifo current assessment index in Germany registered an unexpected rise to a level of 103.80 in March, compared to market expectations of a drop to a reading of 102.90. The index had registered a revised level of 103.60 in the previous month.
US Dallas Fed manufacturing business index declined in March
In the US, the Dallas Fed manufacturing business index fell to a level of 8.30 in March, lower than market expectations of a drop to a reading of 9.00. The index had registered a reading of 13.10 in the previous month.
US Chicago Fed national activity index dropped in February
In the US, the Chicago Fed national activity index dropped to a level of -0.29 in February, higher than market expectations of a fall to a reading of -0.38. In the previous month, the index had recorded a revised reading of -0.25.
