UK BBA mortgage approvals climbed in March
In the UK, BBA mortgage approvals registered a rise to a level of 39.98 K in March, compared to a revised level of 39.21 K in the prior month.
US annualised GDP rose more than expected in 1Q 2019
The preliminary annualised gross domestic product (GDP) in the US registered a rise of 3.20% on a quarterly basis, in 1Q 2019, more than market expectations for a rise of 2.30%. In the prior quarter, the GDP had advanced 2.20%.
US consumer sentiment index declined in April
In the US, the final consumer sentiment index fell to a level of 97.20 April, compared to market expectations of a drop to a reading of 97.00. The index had registered a level of 98.40 in the previous month.
