UK consumer confidence slid in June
In the UK, consumer confidence eased to a level of -13.00 in June, compared to market expectations of a fall to a reading of -11.00. In the prior month, the consumer confidence had recorded a level of -10.00.
Euro-zone business climate indicator declined in June
In the Euro-zone, the business climate indicator eased to a level of 0.17 in June, compared to a reading of 0.30 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the business climate indicator to drop to a level of 0.27.
Euro-zone consumer confidence index slid in June
In the Euro-zone, the final consumer confidence index eased to a level of -7.20 in June, meeting market expectations. In the previous month, the index had registered a level of -6.50.
German CPI advanced more than expected in June
In Germany, the preliminary consumer price index (CPI) registered a rise of 1.60% on an annual basis in June, higher than market expectations for an advance of 1.40%. The CPI had advanced 1.40% in the previous month.
US annualised GDP advanced less than expected in 1Q 2019
In the US, the final annualised gross domestic product (GDP) recorded a rise of 3.10% on a quarterly basis in 1Q 2019, lower than market expectations for an advance of 3.20%. The annualised GDP had climbed 2.20% in the prior quarter.
