Euro-zone current account surplus narrowed in February

In the Euro-zone, the seasonally adjusted current account surplus narrowed €25.88 billion in February, from a revised surplus of €34.73 billion in the previous month.

Euro-zone construction output dropped in February

In the Euro-zone, the seasonally adjusted construction output recorded a drop of 2.10% on a MoM basis in February, compared to an advance of 0.80% in the previous month.

RBA sees faster economic recovery from pandemic

Minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) meeting, indicated that Australia’s economic recovery has been ahead of expectations with an “above-trend” expansion likely this year and next. Further, the central bank indicated that it would maintain the current policy stance until actual inflation is sustainably within its 2-3% target range, which it does not expect to meet before 2024.

PBOC keeps interest rate unchanged

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC), in its April monetary policy meeting, kept its benchmark lending rate for corporate and household loans steady at 3.85%, for the 12th straight month, meeting market expectations
