New S-VP for Madison Square Garden

The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE:MSG) announced today that distinguished, 20-year government veteran Joseph Percoco has been appointed senior vice president, effective January 4. Mr. Percoco joins the Company after serving as Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive deputy secretary for the last five years, overseeing all facets of government operations.

In this newly created position, Mr. Percoco will utilize his significant expertise to play an important role in numerous Company priorities, including working closely with the executive management team to develop and execute strategic business opportunities that drive the overall advancement of the Company. This will include support of the Company’s businesses, which in addition to New York, are also located in Inglewood, CA, Chicago and Boston.

Mr. Percoco joins MSG after serving as executive deputy secretary for Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Office since 2011, where he reported directly to the Governor and worked with senior staff to effectively execute the Administration’s priorities. His responsibilities included overseeing the operations and administration of the Executive Chamber, as well as legislative and intergovernmental affairs and constituency relations. For four years prior to this, Mr. Percoco worked at the Office of the New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo as special counsel. During this time, he was responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the Attorney General’s Office, including the coordination of cases, investigations, agency initiatives and outreach, while also managing New York City and Albany offices, as well as 11 regional offices.

From 2003-2006, Mr. Percoco served as attorney manager of Operations Services at KPMG, LLP, Forensic and Litigation, where he was regional operations manager of the Northeast Forensic Practice. Prior to this, he served as deputy campaign manager of Operations for the Andrew Cuomo for Governor Campaign. Mr. Percoco has also served as assistant general counsel and special assistant to the Secretary at U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and as deputy director of public events at the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York. He started his career as an aide to former Governor Mario M. Cuomo.
