If you’re like most people, you’re welcoming the new year with renewed energy and optimism for the future. And, like most people, you’re setting your new year’s resolutions that you will, more than likely, have forgotten by the end of the first quarter. However, this needs not be if trading is on the list of things you’d like to start or continue in the new year.

Trading apps have been getting better and better, and access to the markets is more convenient than ever. Furthermore, most of the best trading and investment apps are available in the UK, and you have multiple options to help you reach your objectives. This piece will highlight the best trading apps for 2023 and why we think they are worth looking at.

  • eToro

eToro is a stock, ETF, crypto, and forex trading platform that’s excellent for intermediate and advanced traders. It is an Israeli-based platform with offices in London and fully complies with all UK trading laws, making it safe and secure. eToro’s user interface is easy to navigate and very intuitive for people with little to no experience in trading or online trading platforms.

However, the platform’s customer service is wanting to say the least and could use more urgency and a better customer experience. Account plans can also be a bit restrictive, and non-trading fees are high, which is not ideal if you’re on a low budget. But if you’re willing to look past these shortcomings, eToro has excellent features such as copy trading, mobile app support for Android and IOS, and analytical tools.

In addition, the platform has a vision of making a global minimum wage a reality, which is inspiring, and you will inadvertently help lift impoverished communities.

  • Plus500

Plus500 is another Israeli-based platform that’s fully registered in the UK and holds offices in London and other parts of the EU. It’s listed on the London Stock Exchange and can be publicly traded as other instruments in over 50 countries except for the US. The platform specialises in CFDs trading and holds an extensive portfolio you can choose from.

On the other hand, Pluss500’s customer support takes time to respond to customer concerns, and you cannot pair other trading tools with the platform, limiting your ability to build more complex strategies. However, the platform has a user-friendly interface and offers the option to set stop loss and take profit orders.

  1. Capital.com

Capital.com is an easy-to-use trading platform that’s excellent if you’re just starting trading. Its AI-based technology allows the platform to simplify complicated trading principles into one-click actions you can easily follow. You can also expect to access the broker’s vast array of training materials on the platform to help you get up to speed with different trading strategies.

Furthermore, the platform has received a few awards for its efficiency and user-friendliness, which comes in handy when trading any of the available instruments.

  • Barclays

If you live in the UK, you have most certainly heard of Barclays Bank, one of the country’s most prominent financial institutions, if not the world. Barclays Smart Investor is the bank’s subsidiary that offers trading and investment services, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange as well as the New York Stock Exchange. The platform also enjoys listings in multiple reputable trading jurisdictions, making it a safe and secure platform.

If more than the platform’s legacy is needed to get your juices running, it has no inactivity or withdrawal fees, and its trading commissions are reasonable. However, you can only create an account with Barclays if you’re in the UK and hold an account with the bank.

  • IG Markets

IG Markets is another trading platform that has been around the block and assures you of excellent services. It offers access to multiple trading instruments, including stocks, ETFs, indices, and crypto. Furthermore, the platform offers the lowest commissions on UK shares in the country, making it the best option if you invest in companies with low budgets.

IG Markets also offers expert account management using IG Smart Portfolio at an affordable fee, which takes most of the trading burden off your shoulders. In addition, the platform has an ISA feature that helps you avoid paying capital gains tax on your investment profits.
