UK Investor Show: Prepare for Giant Equities Rally

I’ll be speaking at next April’s  UK Investor Show  along with Tom Winnifrith and other experts including Nigel Wray, Mark Slater – even ‘Evil Knievil’ himself.

Normally, I would talk about ways to make 20% or more a year from stocks.  Yet at the end, all anyone ever wants to ask about are short- term trading tips to make them fortunes overnight.

I expect it will be no different next April – so I’ll have some crazy trading tip at the ready.

Yet smart investors would be far better off following the advice contained in my  101 Ways to Pick Stock Market Winners  – which has been in the top ten of Amazon’s investing charts for a couple of weeks now, reaching No.2 several times.

I can’t seem to dislodge the fabulous Robbie Burns from the top slot. Not sure I ever will!

Robbie is “the man”, when it comes to helping novice investors get going without risking their shirt. He’s the “go to guy” for anyone wanting to start investing from scratch.

At least I can now tell you with confidence there’s at least two books in the top ten I can guarantee won’t lead you astray.

MY BUYING STRATEGY…

I bought some Hornby (LSE:HRN) last week,  a few days after its nose dive. I should have held off for a few weeks really, but I didn’t want to miss the opportunity – if it tanks again I will buy more.

It’s the same old story, a good business, too cheap. It pays to be a bit blase with timing because it’s essentially random i.e. there’s no right time, only a right price.

Hornby was a hero stock a few years ago, whereas now it’s in the doghouse, yet not a lot has changed.

After my big sellout, I’m now getting back towards owning 30 stocks.

I’m convinced we are on for a giant equity rally, but I’m not sure if we need another couple of years of summer slumps before it goes mad.

There really is such a giant chunk of cash stored in the government bond pipeline that it’s hard to image that it’s not going to be monetised and gush into shares soon.

Seeing the future with clarity however, normally means seeing the outcome occurring way to early.

So till madness breaks out I’m just buying cheap stuff like Hornby ….and waiting.
