UK BBA mortgage approvals slid in October

In October, BBA mortgage approvals in the UK dropped to 40.49 K, compared to a revised level of 41.58 K in the previous month. Markets were expecting BBA mortgage approvals to drop to 40.65 K.

German Ifo business climate index unexpectedly advanced in November

The Ifo business climate index registered an unexpected rise to 117.50 in Germany, in November, higher than market expectations of a fall to 116.70. In the previous month, the Ifo business climate index had registered a revised reading of 116.80.

German Ifo business expectations index unexpectedly advanced in November

The Ifo business expectations index rose unexpectedly to a level of 111.00 in November, in Germany, higher than market expectations of a drop to a level of 108.80. The Ifo business expectations index had recorded a revised level of 109.20 in the previous month.

German Ifo current assessment index unexpectedly slid in November

The Ifo current assessment index unexpectedly eased to 124.40 in November, in Germany, compared to a reading of 124.80 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the Ifo current assessment index to rise to 125.00.

Italian industrial orders rose in September

In Italy, the non-seasonally adjusted industrial orders registered a rise of 4.50% on an annual basis, in September. Industrial orders had risen by a revised 9.60% in the prior month.

Italian industrial sales climbed in September

On a YoY basis, the non-seasonally adjusted industrial sales recorded a rise of 5.20% in Italy, in September. Industrial sales had climbed by a revised 3.10% in the previous month.

Italian industrial sales dropped in September

The seasonally adjusted industrial sales in Italy dropped 1.20% in September on a MoM basis. In the prior month, industrial sales had registered a rise of 2.00%.

Italian industrial orders eased in September

The seasonally adjusted industrial orders registered a drop of 3.90% on a MoM basis, in September, in Italy. Industrial orders had climbed by a revised 5.30% in the prior month.

Spanish PPI advanced in October

In October, on a monthly basis, the producer price index (PPI) in Spain rose 0.80%. The PPI had risen by a revised 0.60% in the prior month.

In Spain, the PPI advanced 2.80% on an annual basis, in October. The PPI had risen by a revised 3.50% in the prior month.

Swiss industrial production rose in 3Q 2017

In 3Q 2017, on an annual basis, industrial production rose 8.60% in Switzerland. In the previous quarter, industrial production had advanced by a revised 3.20%.

US Markit manufacturing PMI unexpectedly dropped in November

In November, the preliminary Markit manufacturing PMI in the US unexpectedly slipped to a level of 53.80, compared to market expectations of an advance to a level of 55.00. In the prior month, the Markit manufacturing PMI had recorded a reading of 54.60.

US Markit composite PMI slid in November

The flash Markit composite PMI in the US eased to 54.60 in November, compared to a level of 55.20 in the previous month.

US Markit services PMI surprisingly fell in November

In November, the preliminary Markit services PMI in the US registered an unexpected drop to 54.70, lower than market expectations of an unchanged reading. Markit services PMI had registered a reading of 55.30 in the prior month.

Japanese corporate service price index rose less than expected in October

The corporate service price index in Japan recorded a rise of 0.80% on a YoY basis in October, less than market expectations for a rise of 0.90%. In the prior month, the corporate service price index had registered a rise of 0.90%.

Japanese coincident index dropped in September

In Japan, the final coincident index fell to a level of 116.20 in September, compared to a reading of 117.70 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated a drop to 115.80.

Japanese leading economic index dropped in September

In September, the final leading economic index in Japan recorded a drop to 106.40. The leading economic index had registered a level of 107.20 in the prior month. The preliminary figures had indicated a fall to 106.60.

Chinese industrial profits (YoY) rose in October

On a YoY basis, industrial profits (YoY) climbed 25.10% in October, in China. Industrial profits (YoY) had climbed 27.70% in the previous month.
